Before and After Care
The Before and After Care (BAC) program is in a separate classroom and is open daily for use by MCHS children needing additional care before or after classroom time. BAC is open from 7:30 a.m. – 8:15 a.m. and from 11:45 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
The 7:30 – 8:15 a.m. morning program includes opportunities to participate in individual and group activities such as art projects and story time.
During the 11:45 a.m. – 2:45 p.m. time frame, the younger children eat lunch, brush their teeth, and then take a nap or have quiet work time. (Older children remain in their classroom for the afternoon session.)
Children who stay during the 2:45 – 6:00 p.m. time frame enjoy playing outside on the spacious playground, participating in group activities, and working with the wonderful variety of materials available to them. The individual works include art activities, sewing, snack, manipulatives, and much more.
My son thought the world of BAC. He wanted to make sure that he touched and did every work every day before getting picked up. He loved every guide there. They all treated him with amazing kindness.
The BAC program operates in a manner consistent with the Montessori philosophy, and with the understanding that the aftercare program should not be an afterthought, but rather an enriching part of the child’s daily experience.
